I attended Southampton's Go Green Fair yesterday (http://www.gogreenfair.co.uk/) and exhibited on behalf of Jamie's Computers, my employer. It was great, and I want to first give mention to Ziggy's vegan chocolate cake, which was a yummy way to start the day!
There were stalls run by October Books, Southampton's Fair Trade Shop (Shirley High Street), Hamsphire Green Directory, Southampton City Council's recycling department, Cyclewise and Friends of the Earth amongst others. There were vegan treats, and a whole host of information about ethical living, from 'green' nappies to growing your own veg.
I attended a talk on Transition Towns and subsequently bought 'The Transition Handbook, From Oil Dependency to Local Resilience' and am planning to attend the meeting on Wednesday in Southampton looking at Transition Southampton.

I also bought 'Surviving Climate Change', and some ecoballs.

And I attended a workshop where we talked about some of the difficulties facing individuals when thinking about being more environmentally and socially responsible. We talked about the conflicting information that is out there, peoples apprehensions and why these might exist and the cost to the individual of going green. It was interesting to hear all the opinions in the room... I met some very interesting people yesterday... people that I hope to speak to again.
Considering I was 'working' yesterday, it wasn't a bad day at all!
