On the subject of vegetarianism... I just don't understand how anyone could eat another animal! The idea of something elses leg being in my oven is just bizarre to my mind. If alternatives weren't readily available... and healthier, I might get it. But they are. So I don't.
And I think it's just too easy for meat eaters to get on with it without having to acknowledge how it's got to their plate. I mean it's all packaged, and looking very much NOT like an animal at the time of purchase. The purchaser doesn't have to think about how's it got there, or what it really is. But how many people, honestly, would have the guts (and skill), to go hunt it, look it in the eye, kill eat, skin it, butcher it, fillet it, cook it and then eat it ??
That kind of scenario I may find acceptable, but the way it really happens when you think about factory farming, is appalling. And in my view unnecessary given the alternatives now available. Not to mention the deforestation that happens to make way for grazing - it's just not sustainable. And did I mention the health risks??
OK. Feel a bit better now!

I'm vegetarian, but I know enough meat eaters to know that they have many reasons for doing it. Some haven't thought about it, some don't care, some see it as a right, some just like it. But one thing they all seem to dislike is being preached at.
